A thorough examination, which includes:
Gum Health Assessment: Checking for signs of gum disease and periodontal issues.
Tooth Inspection: Evaluating each tooth for decay, cracks, or other damage.
Soft Tissue Examination: Inspecting the tongue, cheeks, and other soft tissues for abnormalities.
Bite and Jaw Analysis
X-RAYS
Digital x-rays will be taken to provide a detailed view of the teeth and underlying bone structure, helping to identify issues not visible during the physical exam.
Oral Cancer Screening
A screening to detect early signs of cancerous or precancerous conditions in the mouth. This quick and painless examination is typically performed during routine dental check-ups and plays a vital role in early detection and treatment of oral cancer.
3D Digital Scan
This advanced technology uses an
intraoral scanner: a small handheld device, to capture highly detailed, three-dimensional images of a patient's teeth and oral structures

Meet Your Doctors
Dr. Shamil Hajee, DMD
Going to the dentist has always been an enjoyable experience for Dr. Hajee, and with no surprise he decided to make a career out of it. Dr. Shamil Hajee grew up in Burnaby, where he graduated from Simon Fraser University with a B.Sc. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. After a brief period of working in Cancer Research, he went on to receive his D.M.D. from The University of Sydney, in Australia. During his time there, he was actively involved in the community as a volunteer in several outreach programs as well as providing dental care in under-serviced areas.
Dr. Hajee has a strong belief in taking the time to get to know his patients personally and their oral health goals. While he loves to continue to grow and further his skill set, his favourite aspects include: Restorative Dentistry, Oral Surgery as well as Cosmetic Dentistry to help his patients feel confident in their smile.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hajee enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He is a proud dad and enjoys live music and comedy. He is also an avid traveller and loves taking every opportunity to experience new food and culture with his wife and daughter.
Dr. Victor Chan, DMD
Dr. Chan grew up in Richmond and attended The University of British Columbia. After receiving his Dental Hygiene diploma in 2006 and Bachelors degree in Dental Science in 2008, Dr. Chan started his dental career in dental hygiene. As well, he taught and mentored students in the UBC Dental Hygiene program, which he found very enjoyable. Eventually, Dr. Chan found his calling to become a dentist, and subsequently received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The University of Sydney in Australia. During his time there, he also went overseas regularly for dental volunteer trips in the Philippines.
Upon returning to Canada, Dr. Chan started his practice with rotations between Vancouver and Fort McMurray. Then the lure of the Whistler mountains beckoned, where he spent a year living and practicing there.
After a year in Whistler, he decided to return to the city to be closer to family and friends. Dr. Chan’s goal is to create and foster a safe, warm environment, to listen and understand patients’ needs, and to develop treatment-plan for life-long optimal oral care.
He values making patients feel at ease with open communication and empowers them with education on preventive care. Dr. Chan enjoys taking continuing education courses to further expand his field of expertise and knowledge. His favourite aspects in dentistry include Restorative, Oral Surgery, as well as Cosmetic.
Dr. Mabel Ma, DMD
Dr. Ma grew up in Vancouver where she obtained her bachelor’s degree (BMLSc) from The University of British Columbia and went on to receive her dental education (DMD) from The University of Sydney. Upon graduating, she returned home to Vancouver to start her practice. Dr. Ma is a strong advocate of open communication and strives to educate her patients on preventative care. She takes time to understand each patient’s needs in order to help them understand and optimize their oral health.Dr. Ma is dedicated to providing quality and comprehensive care to all her patients. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and continues to expand her skills and knowledge through continuing education.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Ma enjoys spending plenty of time with her family, indulging in various foods when travelling, as well as exploring the great outdoors Vancouver has to offer.
